Danny Paul Yancy, 64, of Decatur passed away Tuesday December 20, 2011 in his loving wife’s arms at their home.

A memorial service to celebrate Danny’s life will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday December 23, 2011 at the Forsyth United Methodist Church in Forsyth, with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until time of services. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Danny was born on July 27, 1947 in Henderson, KY the son of Owen and Peggy Harrison Yancy. He married Deborah L. Fenton on July 26, 1975. Danny worked as an operator at ADM and retired after 20 years of service. Danny was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and an Army veteran serving in Korea during the Viet Nam war. He loved delivering meals for the DMH coffee shop where is wife worked. Danny loved and lived for his family and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

Danny is survived by his wife Deborah; four children: Thomas Yancy and wife Kami of Denver, CO, Tanya Vaughn and husband John of Decatur, Travis Yancy and significant other Brittney of Decatur and Troy Yancy of Jacksonville, IL; three grandchildren: Owen Vaughn, Finn Yancy and Brooklyn Yancy; brother Stanley Yancy and wife Dee of Dade City, FL and sister Jo Ellyn Forcun and husband Roger of Mode, IL.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Owen Yancy.
